Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project (PRLIS) is designed to lift 90 TMC of floodwater from the Krishna River to provide drinking and irrigation water to drought-prone upland regions of Telangana.
- Purpose: To irrigate approximately 12.30 lakh acres of land and provide drinking water to 1,226 villages, industries, and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
- Districts Benefited: Primarily serves Nagarkurnool, Mahabubnagar, Vikarabad, Rangareddy, Narayanpet, and Nalgonda.
- Infrastructure: The project involves lifting water against gravity in five stages through six major reservoirs: Anjanagiri, Veeranjaneya, Venkatadri, Kurumurthyraya, Udandapur, and K.P. Laxmidevipally
