Why in News?
The Andhra Pradesh Government has established a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to develop a mega shipbuilding and maritime infrastructure hub at Dugarajapatnam in Tirupati district.
Location of the Project
The proposed shipbuilding hub will be developed at Dugarajapatnam, located in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh. The project aims to transform the area into a major maritime industrial centre.
Institutional Collaboration
Earlier, the Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board (APMB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) for establishing the shipbuilding cluster at Dugarajapatnam.
