43. Vimaladitya, one of the two sons of Danamava (Eastern Chalukya) whose cause was championed by Rajaraja Chola I, received whose daughter in marriage from the Chola king?
Rajaraja Chola I espoused the cause of the sons of Danamava, who were deprived of their kingdom by Jata Choda Bhima. He gave his daughter Kundavai in marriage to Vimaladitya, the younger of the two princes. This was but the beginning of a series of diplomatic marriages between the Eastern Chalukyas and the Cholas.
Later, Rajaraja Narendra (son of Vimaladitya and Kundavai) married the Chola princess Ammangai (daughter of Rajendra Chola I), and their son Rajendra Chalukya ultimately became Kulottunga Chola I. The Kundavai-Vimaladitya marriage thus began the dynastic fusion that would culminate in the Chalukya-Chola synthesis.
