Andhra Pradesh government is set to launch an Green Cover Project on Ugadi. The initiative aims to significantly enhance the State’s forest and tree cover as part of long-term environmental sustainability goals.
Key Highlights of the project:
- Current Green Cover: Around 30%
- Target: 50% Green Cover by 2047
- Intermediate Target: 37% Green Cover by 2030.
- Plantation target: 9 lakh hectares (short term).
